Failure to complymay result in damage to equipment.Inspect connector pins/sockets for damage,corrosion, and serviceability. Check thatconnector pins are not pushed back andare capable of making good contact.(1) Remove valve body cover (para 8-2).(2) Disconnect transfer case wiring harnessconnector H from H solenoid connector.(3) Set multimeter to ohms.(4) Connect positive (+) probe of multimeterto transfer case wiring harness connectorpin A.(5) Connect negative (-) probe of multimeter totransfer case wiring harness externalconnector H socket A and note reading onmultimeter.(6) If continuity is not present, replacetransfer case wiring harness (para 8-2).(7) Connect positive (+) probe of multimeterto transfer case wiring harness externalconnector pin A.(8) Connect negative (-) probe of multimeter toall other pins in transfer case wiringharness external connector and notereading on multimeter.(9) Connect negative (-) probe of multimeter toground and note reading on multimeter.(10) If continuity is present, transfer casewiring harness is shorted; replace transfercase wiring harness (para 8-2).
